Kindergarten Greenway Park Elementary
Nahke keeps a positive attitude despite the fact that his mother
is undergoing serious health concerns. Nahke has taken on the
role as a leader in his class and excels in all his subject
areas. He takes the time to assists the special needs students
with sitting properly and keeping their desk area clean. Nahkye
demonstrates respect, caring and responsibility beyond his young
years.

Martin is a polite and well mannered student that is a positive
role model for his classmates. He goes out of his way to assist
a classmate that is wheelchair bound.

Huntingtowne Farms Elementary
Lauren is an outstanding citizen. She is helpful to all the
other students in her class. Without being asked she helped out
a student in her class who was on crutches. Lauren helped her
friend by carrying her books, pulling out her chair and
assisting with her lunch tray.

Karson Cage 3rd Grade Torrence Creek Elementary
Karson has maturity beyond her young years. She cut off her
beautiful long brown hair and donated the locks to young
children with cancer. Karson demonstrated concern for others
less fortunate than herself.

Diaun Cofield 3rd
Grade Tuckaseegee Elementary
Diaun greeted a visiting audiologist who was carrying a large
bundle of things and politely asked her if she needed any help.
He then proceeded to help her with her things as well as opening
the office door. Being the perfect gentleman, he then told her
he was more than happy to help and wished the visitor a good
day. Diaun impressed the visitor and truly made her welcome by
demonstrating respect for others.

Elementary
Kenese went above and beyond for a friend. He came to his
friend’s aide by retrieving a lost name tag; cleaned the name
tag with soap and water before retuning it to the rightful
owner. Kenese demonstrated good citizenship.

Liam is
a popular and kind child, and is enthusiastic in all aspects of
school life. He is creative and has initiative, as well as being an
entrepreneur in the making. He designed and made book marks and
other hand made crafts to sell at our school yard sale. Liam always
comes to school prepared and manages to juggle activities while
being persistent and organized.

Heidy
shows in her daily behavior and work ethic what it means to be an IB
student. Heidy immigrated from Honduras to our area just two years
ago. During this short time frame she has become fluent in English
and often takes on extra responsibilities in her classroom to
practice her English skills. Recently, Heidy found some money on the
playground and immediately turned it in to the office. Heidy
demonstrates perseverance and honesty every day.

Kayla
found a roll of money in the restroom and immediately turned the
money over to the assistant principal. Kayla knew that the right
thing to do was to be honest.

Jermaine
found money on his school bus, he knew the right thing to do was to
immediately turn the money into the school office. Jermaine
demonstrated honesty and by making the right choice.

Tirsa Reyes 10th
Grade EE Waddell High
Tirsa
found $70.00 lying on the floor of her classroom, and despite urges
from some classmates she chose to give the money to the teacher.
Tirsa made the statement “It is not mine and I would feel bad
keeping it.” The money was turned over to the rightful owner soon
afterwards. Tirsa demonstrated courage in doing the right thing in
face of difficulty and following her conscience instead of the
crowd.

Necole
helped a pre-school student by demonstrating good citizenship. She
went to meet her brother at the bus stop, when a pre-school student
was dropped off at the wrong location. She realized this was in
error and took the child home until she was able to reach his
mother.
